Proposed session: Collaborative approaches to combating prejudice in in / through tech

Last week there was an article published by the Guardian on the transference of racial and gender prejudices from human programmers to AI systems.  Since technology has become central to our lived experiences, it is evermore necessary to examine the relationship between human and machine and their mutual affects.

I propose a talk(?) session on working collaboratively to combat prejudice in the digital age through humanist approaches to technological design and application.

I definitely want to learn from this important discussion. I hope we have many folks in on this conversation because technology is never neutral, and we must be actively engaged in technology lest technology be seen as an invisible and objective and neurtal force–which it is not–and the real world violence that creates and allows. Thank you for posting this important session!
