Annemarie Nichols

I am Annemarie Nichols, a master’s student in oral history at the University of Florida. Since the summer of 2014, I have worked alongside the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program, conducting oral history fieldwork and processing collected interviews. I have traveled throughout the South, conducting oral history interviews in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and North Carolina. I am currently working on a digitally-based master’s project that examines landownership, race, and place in Jackson County, Florida. As a fifth generation Floridian, I hope to continue using oral histories to show others the historical nuances of Florida and the South.
